A business with two units on the same industrial estate needed their new unit CCTV to connect back to the existing NVR in their original unit. Vortex installed a 1 Gbps unlicensed point-to-point wireless link, eliminating the need for a second NVR and broadband connection.
A business operating across two units on an industrial estate came to us with a connectivity problem. They had a CCTV system in their original unit with an existing NVR, and had since taken on a second unit on the same estate. The cameras in the new unit had no way of connecting back to the NVR in the old unit, and the customer was concerned they would need to invest in a second NVR and a separate broadband connection to get the new unit covered.
We designed a solution that avoided both of those costs. A 1 Gbps unlicensed point-to-point wireless link was installed between the two buildings, creating a dedicated connection that bridges the CCTV network in the new unit back to the existing infrastructure in the old unit. All camera footage from the new unit now feeds directly into the original NVR, keeping everything in one place and under one management system.
Because the radio operates on licence-free spectrum, the customer has no Ofcom licensing fees to worry about - reducing the total cost of ownership compared to a licensed link. There is no second broadband contract, no second NVR, and no split between two separate systems to manage.
The result is a single unified CCTV setup across both units, running over a reliable 1 Gbps wireless backbone, at a fraction of what a conventional two-site solution would have cost.
