Emergency Overnight Fibre Replacement - Film Production Studio

A rat chewed through a fibre cable at a film studio, taking a remote cabinet offline. Vortex engineers attended, ran a new cable, re-spliced the connection, improved the cable protection, and had the network back up within hours.

A film studio contacted us after one of their remote network cabinets had gone completely offline. The cause was a rat chewing through the fibre cable that had been installed by a previous contractor, severing the connection between that cabinet and the rest of the network.

Vortex engineers attended site, assessed the damage, and ran a full replacement fibre cable. The damaged section was removed, the new cable was pulled through, fusion spliced, and the connection was tested at both ends. We also improved the cable protection on the run to reduce the risk of the same thing happening again.

The network was fully repaired within hours of us arriving on site.
